Shaftless Screw Conveyor
Shaftless screw conveyors only have a spiral, with no centre shaft. The screw rotates on a liner, which is typically made from ultra-high-density polyethylene. The only connection point in a shaftless screw conveyor is at the drive end.
Shaftless screw conveyors are ideal for handling slushy, sticky, wet and lumpy materials. They can be totally enclosed (sealed) for corrosive or hazardous requirements. Without the need for hanger bearings, a shaftless conveyor can easily operate at a fill rate of 50%. For applications such as live-bottom hoppers and feeders, a shaftless screw conveyor can run at 100%.
Each conveyor is factory assembled, complete with all the mechanical parts and supports required for proper operation. The advantages include no intermediate bearings, no centre pipe, lower maintenance costs, longer life and increased screw capacity.
