Shaftless screw conveyors only have a spiral, with no centre shaft. The screw rotates on a liner, which is typically made from ultra-high-density polyethylene. The only connection point in a shaftless screw conveyor is at the drive end.<\/p>\n
Shaftless screw conveyors are ideal for handling slushy, sticky, wet and lumpy materials. They can be totally enclosed (sealed) for corrosive or hazardous requirements. Without the need for hanger bearings, a shaftless conveyor can easily operate at a fill rate of 50%. For applications such as live-bottom hoppers and feeders, a shaftless screw conveyor can run at 100%.<\/p>\n
